2023 Gamay/ Pinot 'Driftwood' ..... 93 pts (Gary Walsh - The Wine Front)
REVIEW: 93PTS - Nice fella, apparently, Syd Bradford. I’ve never met him, though my partner vouches for him. Anyway, 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot Noir. It’s a YV/KV Passetoutgrain!
Very nice. Strawberry shortcake, cherry, venison and juniper berry, and quite spicy, minty and floral too. It has a pleasing density, a good burst of spicy strawberry and cherry, kind of meaty and bunchy, a distinct ‘mineral’ feel to it, fine grainy and gently peppery tannin, with a bright and sappy finish of excellent length. Delicious. I think maybe the best release of this wine to date.
