winemaking:

This TaT Farm MV6 Pinot is from our own vineyard in Badger Creek. Stainless steel open top indigenous fermented. Three separate ferments from 1ha block. Ferment #1 was 100% Whole Bunch. Ferment #2 was 100% destemmed with saignee and ferment #3 was 10% Whole Bunch. Whole bunch portion is 50% of final blend.  New French oak is 10% of the blend. Second use French oak makes up 35%. All oak as puncheons (500L) and hogsheads (300L). No fining but light filtration. Bottled in late November.

nose:

Lifted cranberry, plum and strawberry. Hints of orange peel, toasty oak, whole bunch and barrel ferment characters.

 palate:

Soft and ‘plump’ mid palate with super fine and velvety tannins. Red berries flavours and a crunchy acidity combine to make this 2016 vintage a fun and lively wine. Great overall balance with a long and refreshing finish.
