winemaking

100% carbonic maceration for 6 days using Yarra Pinot Noir from the clones 114 and 115 and then pressed to new puncheons for a further 6 days to complete primary ferment. The blend was then put together in tank where it went through natural malo-lactic fermentation. Finally, a new half barrel of MV6 clone was added to the blend and filtration performed. Early bottling in July to lock in the fresh berry fruits.

nose

Classic strawberry & cream nose from the carbonic process. Lifted aromas of liqueur cherry and pomegranate. Whole bunch stalky characters add spice notes, especially clove and peppercorn. Earth and herbal notes appear as the wine opens in the glass.

palate

Full bodied and savoury with a spider web of fine tannins. Soft, slippery and rustic with red berries and a touch of chocolate on the finish.
